My practice explores spaces of uncertainty- spaces where things feel unresolved, nuanced, and complex rather than fixed or certain. Working between abstraction and figuration, I use painting to think through moments of shift and change: how we contain ourselves, what seeps through, how the structures we rely on can both support and restrict us, and what happens when we loosen our grip on control. Movement and gesture play an important role in the work, suggesting transition and transformation.

I reference healing and toxic plants, alongside organic and atmospheric forms, not as literal subjects but as metaphors for transformation. These elements are stretched, dissolved, and reconfigured into ambiguous spaces that hover between inner and outer worlds. Increasingly, my work moves away from descriptive imagery and towards abstraction, where sensation and mood take precedence over narrative.

Recently I have been returning to the idea of a “box”- something meant to keep things neat and contained, but which can also feel limiting. In my paintings, forms push beyond their edges and surfaces leak, reflecting how the categories we place ourselves in don’t always fit the complexity of real life.

Rather than constructing complete worlds, the paintings operate as thresholds, holding tension between control and release, clarity and fog. A quiet luminosity persists throughout the work, inviting viewers to linger within these uncertain spaces, where boundaries soften and meaning remains unresolved.

BIO

I am a London-based artist who graduated from City and Guilds with an MA in Fine Art in 2023. During my time there, I developed a fascination with exploring introspective experiences through the creation of psychologically charged, symbolic environments. My evolving practice continues to dive into these topics.

Alongside my practice I teach Studio Practice Art classes from my studio alongside other skill based classes for adults and children. I am also to co-host of The Healthy Artist podcast.
